Ähtäri Zoo

Ähtäri Zoo, opened in 1973, was Finland's first naturalistic zoo, set among forests and lakes in South Ostrobothnia. The park is best known for its bears, lynx, wolves and otters, with a walking loop of about 2–3 hours through wooded enclosures. Families will find the Hiidenkivi play area and the Mömmilä character-themed trail along the route. An on-site hotel, cottages and service station make it suitable for a full weekend visit. Parking and entry are paid.
