An artist's home and animal retirement home operating in an old Ostrobothnian yard in Kylänpää, Seinäjoki, in the Ylistaro area. The yard has offered a home to thousands of animals that were under threat of euthanasia, and freely roaming in the yard area are sheep, a pony, a donkey, ducks, and many others spending their retirement days here. In the main building maintained by the artist couple Heikki and Liisa-Cristiina Laaksonen there is a gift shop as well as the artists' own workspaces, and during the summer season a café operates in the yard. The retirement home operates on the strength of volunteers and donations. Old Markki is open during the summer season with an entrance fee.
