Toivonen Animal Park and Peasant Museum

An animal park and peasant museum located in Kälviä, Kokkola, along Highway 8 about 10 kilometers north of Kokkola. The complex comprises 50 separate buildings and over 12,500 museum objects. In the animal park you can meet the animals of an old village, such as Erkki the pony, Fettu and Putte the pigs, cows, chickens, roosters, goats, and sheep with their lambs, as well as the residents of the Cat House and Dog House. The yard has a playhouse exhibition area, a play shop, pedal tractors and carts for children, as well as an extensive display area of old cars and tractors. During the summer season, traditional work demonstrations are organized in the area, and the Savupirtti café offers drinks and food. The cottage and caravan area can be accommodated during the summer season.
