Viitaniemi Traffic Park

Viitaniemen liikennepuisto is a city-run traffic park for children in the Nisula district of Jyväskylä, operating since 1968 and serving multiple generations. The grounds host a miniature traffic environment complete with traffic lights, a fuelling point, pedestrian crossings and pavements, giving kids a concrete way to practice road rules. The park lends pedal cars in different sizes for free, plus tricycles for the smallest visitors and a few two- and four-seater cars for children to drive together with a parent. Helmets are mandatory and available to borrow on site. The park works best for children aged 6-12, but toddlers are also welcome with parents. Outside the staffed hours, visitors can practise on their own bike.
