Mellunmäki Playground

Leikkipuisto Mellunmäki is a forest-themed playground in the Mellunmäki district of Helsinki. The headline feature is a striking wooden owl climbing structure with built-in slide by Kompan, perched on a small hill — a rare piece of equipment in Finland. The yard also has swings, two trampolines, a smaller climbing frame, obstacle bars and a hand-operated zip line. Beyond the owl, kids meet a fox, a hare and a bear among the equipment. A sand sports pitch, multi-use court, small skate or scooter spot and seating area sit nearby. The setting under old pines makes it especially pleasant on hot days. The metro station is about 900 metres away.
