Haltiala Animal Farm

A petting zoo owned by the City of Helsinki located in Haltiala, Tuomarinkylä, Helsinki, near the Vantaa River. The farm is part of the Central Park area, and cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens live there. During the summer months, the horses from Fallkulla Animal Farm and the mounted police also move to the area. From summer to autumn, the animals can be viewed in the yard area from morning to evening, and in winter the indoor sheepfold can be visited independently around Independence Day until Epiphany, and in April-May after the lambs are born. In late summer, the peas and flowers growing on the farm's fields are freely available for city dwellers to pick. A café-restaurant operates in the yard, as well as a farm-themed playground, and free admission makes the destination an easily accessible favorite for families with children.
