Orava Playground

A renovated playground in the Länsi-Herttoniemi district of Helsinki near the metro station, beside a green park. The fenced upper yard has colourful play equipment for the youngest, sand diggers, a climbing carousel and ground-set trampolines. The lower yard for older children has a rope climbing course, a climbing frame and a carousel, and behind the building there are outdoor musical instruments. In summer a wading pool is in use and in winter the adjacent field is flooded for skating. The playground serves as a place for play and meeting for families with babies and children year-round, indoors and out. Good transport links make the site easy to reach.
