Korkeasaari is a 130-year-old zoo on a small island in Helsinki, ranking among the world's northernmost. The collection of around 150 species focuses on northern and mountainous wildlife, including lynx, wolverine, snow leopard and Amur tiger. Walking routes around the island take about 3–4 hours at a relaxed pace. Families will find a petting zoo and several playgrounds along the way. In summer a ferry runs from the Market Square, while year-round the zoo is reachable by bus and on foot via the Mustikkamaa bridge. Multiple cafés and indoor enclosures provide shelter during colder months.
